What is Movie News After Dark? It’s a nightly column dedicated to movie news and links, written hastily this evening because its author is due to get in line and see The Avengers at a midnight show. Please excuse errors in spelling, grammar, logic and common sense — beyond the usual, of course.
We begin with a new shot of The Lizard in The Amazing Spider-Man. He’s holding Peter Parker’s camera, which he will likely crush in a sign of his abject disrespect for the young spiderkund. He’s quite scaly.

We all know that Samuel L. Jackson is not to be messed with. However, we were not aware that giving one of his movies a lukewarm to negative review would incur his wrath. It’s not exactly snakes on his flight home, but A.O. Scott was not interested in loving The Avengers along with the smelly legions of fankind. So Samuel L. Jackson took Scott to task on Twitter. See, I told you that Twitter was a bad idea.
