What is Movie News After Dark? It’s just a nightly movie news column that has problems finding a place to park, just like the rest of you.

We begin tonight with a stop at The Mary Sue, where images have been uncovered featuring Doctor Who‘s new companion, as played by Jenna-Louise Coleman. According to Steven Moffat: “Who [Coleman is] playing, how the Doctor meets her, and even where he finds her, are all part of one of the biggest mysteries the Time Lord ever encounters. Even by the Doctor’s standards, this isn’t your usual boy meets girl.” Fun.

Now that Ridley Scott’s Prometheus is in the can and ready for mass consumption, the Alien director is talking about other films that he may make, some that he won’t make, and for some reason, he’s still talking about that Monopoly movie. Did we not learn anything from Battleship?

Fox has bumped the Steven Spielberg-led Robopocalypse film back to April 2014. Sad robot.

Also in Spielbergia, E.T. will hit Blu-ray in October.

Also in Robopocalypse-related news, author Daniel H. Wilson has a new book coming out. And io9 has the first three chapters of “Amped” for your inspection.

Artist Guillaume Vasseur has created this gorgeous poster for The Day The Earth Stood Still, one of my all-time favorite movies. Simple, elegant, frightening. I must have it.

Linda Holmes at NPR writes of Mad Men, making Ruminations On The Buying and Selling Of Something Beautiful. It’s an article you should read, for a number of reasons.

As always, Movies.com’s Monika Bartyzel brings exceptional effort to her Girls on Film column. This time around she’s writing about the reimagining of the Summer of 1982 in honor of the Alamo Drafthouse and their ongoing summer film series. Tilda Swinton as Khan! It’s not too late, J.J. Abrams!

Game of Thrones star Richard Madden will have a lot of sex in the upcoming film Long Nights Short Mornings, a film about a man who travels through New York in an attempt to sleep with seven women on seven nights. I lived this movie once. But my version was called The Hand of the King. Get it? No? Okay…

The Wrap offers 56 Reasons to Watch TV This Summer. Surprisingly, less than 56 are about Breaking Bad.

Empire reminds us of one of our favorite films of 2012 thus far with a list of ten films to watch before The Raid.

You can now buy a 4K cinema quality movie on the internet. For that awesome 4K projector you undoubtedly have in your basement. Your 80-foot tall basement theater in which you will hold private screenings of Tom Lowe’s nature-porn film TimeScapes. (That actually sounds like a lot of fun. I shall begin digging out the basement.) We close tonight with the trailer:
