Happy Thanksgiving from Film School Rejects

There’s a good chance that if you’re reading this, you’re avoiding some sort of family interaction on your Thanksgiving afternoon. Or you’re bored with a football game that hasn’t lived up to the hype. Or you’re already recovering from helpings one through three of turkey, stuffing and Aunt Edna’s 47-cheese macaroni surprise. Don’t worry, we’re doing all of those things, too. But we’d like to take a moment to be thankful.

Here at Reject HQ, we’re thankful for all the writers who make this site so great. From our editorial team to our feature columnists to our daily news hit squad. From those who have been with us for years to those who have been with us a matter of days, we’re thankful for the tireless work they put in to create great content every day of the year. We wish them all a happy and restful day, as we’re all taking today off to be with friends and loved-ones. We’re back to work tomorrow, people. In the mean time, we’ve already published a great deal of fun reads this week, including 6 Scenes We Love from Planes Tranes and Automobiles (one of our favorite Thanksgiving films) and What the Rejects Are Thankful For, a look back at some movie things that make us happy to do the work we do.

We are also thankful for our great partners. From our hosting teams at Nexcess, who keep the lights on. For our advertising partners at Federated Media and IndieClick, because without them we would almost assuredly not be able to keep the lights on around here. And to our developer team over at Face3 Media, who are responsible for keeping our site looking great and functioning smoothly.

To all the folks we work with a film studios, indie distributors, theaters and agencies, we’re happy that you let your talent talk to us so that we can do silly things with them in interviews and on Reject Radio. We’re sorry that we don’t always like your movies, but that’s just the way it goes. We’ve got to be honest.

We are also very thankful for our friends around the film blogosphere, with whom we’ve shared opinions, film festival housing and even some blows over the course of the year. Folks like Peter Sciretta and his team at /Film, Vic Holtreman and the team at ScreenRant, Alex and the kids at First Showing, as well as the teams from Movies.comHitFixAin’t It Cool NewsCriterionCastJoBloPajibaSlackerwoodThe AV ClubDark HorizonsCinema Blend and so many more around the web that we’ll regret forgetting later, especially after a few seasonal ales (we’re really sentimental drunks). They challenge us to be better every day with their own great content. We look forward to sharing more links, inflatable mattresses and yes, even some heated moments with all of you.

And finally, to every single person reading this right now. Without our readers, we’d be lonely, unhappy and probably doing something far less interesting with our time. We love talking about movies. But most of all, we love talking about movies with you. There’s no greater moment than publishing something, then waiting to see what you’ll have to say about it. You guys and gals from all around the world are the reason we’re able to do what we love. We’re deeply thankful that we’re able to share our love of film with you every day.

We wish all of you a very happy and stress-free Thanksgiving. Be safe, be healthy and tell Aunt Edna what’s up for us. No one stirs 47 cheeses together like that dame.

We’re also thankful for this. Because well, obviously:
