What is Movie News After Dark? It’s a nightly thing about movie things, mostly dedicated to rounding up the best uncovered news of the day, with a few nice caveats thrown in for good measure. Tonight, it’s all business, baby.

Nolan on Superman – “Superman is the biggest comic book character of them all and he needs the biggest possible movie version which is what Zack’s doing. It’s really something.” That’s pretty big there, Mr. Nolan.

More Rim – Despite the fact that there is not yet a full trailer for Guillermo Del Toro’s Pacific Rim, the folks at Legendary Pictures have already called upon writer Travis Beacham to write a sequel. This might be a spoiler, but does that also mean that some sort of giant monster survives to the end of the first one and humanity does not, in fact, prevail entirely? Think about it.

In Comes Costanza – In the wake of Chevy Chase finally exiting Community, more guest stars are being lined up, including Seinfeld alum Jason Alexander, who is said to be starring in an episode that will follow the departure of one Pierce Hawthorn.

Trailer Into Darkness – Simon Pegg has revealed via Twitter that the first trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness will debut online this Thursday, December 6. Obviously we’ll bring that to you as soon as the time comes. For now, lets all just sit and wait patiently and not try to predict what or whom we might see. Just wait, calmly. Can you do that? No? Okay, then…

Bloody Metronome - Another poster has been released for Stoker, this time from the land overseas. It’s got a hint of blood, a metronome and a fierce look from the Wasikowska girl. Nice.

Stoker

Go Ford Coppola or Go Home – Francis Ford Coppola is going to make a big film next: ”I have a secret investor that has infinite money. I learned what I learned from my three smaller films, and wanted to write a bigger film. I’ve been writing it. It’s so ambitious so I decided to go to L.A. and make a film out of a studio that has all the costume rentals, and where all the actors are. My story is set in New York. I have a first draft. I’m really ready for a casting phase. Movies are big in proportion to the period. It starts in the middle of the ‘20s, and there are sections in the ‘30s and the late ‘40s, and it goes until the late ‘60s.”

Mastadon Monsters - Metal band Mastadon, whose music some of you may be familiar with, is allegedly working on a song for the upcoming Pixar sequel, Monsters University. There’s no word on what the song is like or how it will be used, but there has to be a Mike Wasowski in a mash-pit joke here, right?

One Flash Mob More… – Are you excited about the big screen release of Les Miserables? Do you love that soundtrack like you love just about anything that’s ever taken place on a Broadway stage? Well, you don’t love it as much as the attendees of this wedding, as they broke out in a flash mob performance of “One Day More.” That’s dedication to the cause.

That’s just adorable.
