Why Watch? With nods to Leon, Equilibrium and others, this action-beat celebration features a gun-toting Toad, an emotional Princess, and an unlikely plumbing hero.
Fan films get a lot of attention on the internet, and to a certain extent, they’re easy. You make the right references, show an iconic character doing martial arts, and you’ll get at least a few eyeballs. Mario Warfare stands out because of a decent bit of production value (including a very creative use of a castle landscape shot), some heart and solid action. It’s blissfully over the top. And that score? Brilliant. Sweeping and large with just a hint of 8-bit. Fun work all around.
What will it cost you? Only 9 minutes.
