What is Casting Couch? It’s having trouble finding casting news in a week where the entire film industry’s eyes are turned to Sundance, but it was able to dig up a couple nuggets anyway.

Not a lot is known about Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming project, Crimson Peak, but what we do know is that it’s supposed to be some kind of ghost story, and del Toro is in the final stages of securing Emma Stone to star in it. And now there’s some new news about who the male lead is going to be. Variety is reporting that Charlie Hunnam, the Sons of Anarchy star who del Toro recently worked with on Pacific Rim, is now on board the movie as well. Seeing as details regarding the plot are being kept under wraps, there’s no way of really knowing what role Hunnam is going to play, but probably that doesn’t matter. Honestly, this one had everybody at Emma Stone.

Robert Rodriguez’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For has been producing tons of casting news recently. Turns out that guy’s pulling together a lot of top name talent in order to bring more of Frank Miller’s sleazy crime tales to life. The latest news comes from a sit down chat the director had with MTV, where he confirmed that Bruce Willis will indeed be appearing in this sequel to reprise the role of Hartigan that he played in the original. So, there you go. Throw his name onto the pile of recently added stars that already included people like Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ray Liotta, Juno Temple, and Jeremy Piven. Is there anybody left out there that Rodriguez can cram into this one before he wraps up shooting? Or has he now officially employed every actor? The things this guy does for the economy are amazing.

If you’ve been following along with all of the buzz coming out of Sundance, you know that young actress Mackenzie Davis is turning a lot of people’s heads with her performance in Drake Dormus’s Breathe In. Very timely, then, that Sony Pictures is making it known that she’s in talks to be cast in their upcoming zombies and vampires vs. aliens movie, Kitchen Sink. According to Variety, in addition to negotiating with Davis, Kitchen Sink’s director, Robbie Pickering, is also in the process of recruiting The Perks of Being a Wallflower’s Nicholas Braun and The Eric Andre Show writer Josh Fadem. If all three become official, this is one we’re going to be hearing a lot about. Or, you know, seeing as it’s about zombies and vampires fighting aliens, probably we’re going to be hearing a lot about it anyway. The Internet eats that shit up.
