Dakota Fanning

It might sound creepy to hear that a fresh-faced, young actress like Dakota Fanning has been cast as the romantic interest of a crag-faced, old dude like Kevin Kline in a movie, but you have to understand that The Last of Robin Hood needs two actors with a huge age gap between them because it’s telling the real-life story of honest-to-God creep Errol Flynn.

The film will be about the final years of Flynn’s life, when he was between the ages of 48 and 50 and carrying on with young actress Beverly Aadland, who was between the ages of 15 and 17. Susan Sarandon will be playing Florence Aadland, Beverly’s mother, who wrote a book that called Flynn out as being a statutory rapist. Sounds like a charming film? [via Deadline]

Chloe Moretz

Chloe Moretz

Chloe Moretz is another fresh-faced young actress, but she’s thankfully looking at a new role that will pair her up with a male co-star who’s much more age-appropriate. According to Variety, she’s in talks to star in an adaptation of the Gayle Forman novel “If I Stay,” which is about a young girl who’s put in a coma after being involved in a terrible car accident, has an out of body experience, and has to decide if she wants to go on living or not while experiencing a series of eye-opening visions.

Her boyfriend in the story is said to be the frontman of an indie rock band, so the casting call will likely soon go out to find her a young love interest. R.J. Cutler is in talks to direct.

Maria Bello

Maria Bello

After making big successes like Saw and Insidious, director James Wan has proved himself to be one of the most important filmmakers working in the horror genre today, so it makes sense that he should stick to what brought him to the party and keep making spooky stuff.

According to Variety, his next project is going to be a movie about a policeman and a psychologist who get the job of interrogating the lone survivor of a ghost-hunting excursion that ended up killing five people. The film is yet to be titled, but what we do know is that Maria Bello and Frank Grillo have been signed to the cast. And what we can assume is that they haven’t been signed to play two of the five corpses.

Jeff Daniels

Jeff Daniels

This next little bit isn’t even so much a casting rumor as it it wishful thinking on Peter Farrelly’s part, but it’s fun to think about anyway. Screen Crush caught wind of the fact that the director was doing a Q&A on Reddit recently, during which he happened to make some comments regarding the possible Dumb and Dumber sequel, Dumb and Dumber To. In addition to saying that the film was “100% guaranteed” to be “a possibility,” he also dropped the very interesting quote that, “Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are in. And there are a couple of other very juicy roles. I love that guy Channing Tatum and would love to get him in there. Also, there’s an excellent role for a young dumb girl. Emma Stone would knock it out of the park.”

Does he say that he’s got Tatum and Stone? No. Does he say that he’s even approached Tatum and Stone? No. But, if for some reason he were able to get Tatum and Stone on board, then Dumb and Dumber To would have to be considered the first Farrelly brothers movie that anybody has looked forward to in a very long time, wouldn’t it?
