What is Casting Couch? It’s desperately trying to round up all of the casting news that’s been put out there today, but those casting agents over on the west coast have been busy beavers. This time we’ve got news about what funnyman Tim Heidecker and scaryman Vinnie Jones have planned next.
Harlan Coben’s novel, “Six Years,” has yet to be published, but it’s already got a film adaptation in the works. And the film adaptation has yet to have a writer or director, but THR is reporting that it already has a star. Hugh Jackman, who’s best know for being Wolverine in all of those X-Men movies are for earning an Oscar nomination for Les Miserables (heard of him?), has been attached to play the lead role of the film, which is about a man seeing an obituary for the husband of one of his lost loves in the newspaper, deciding to go to the funeral to catch a glimpse of her, and realizing that the woman there who’s claiming to be his wife isn’t the woman that he was in love with six years ago at all. This apparently brings up all sorts of questions about memory, what he really knows, and what he can actually believe. Well, either that or the dead guy happened to get divorced and remarried over the course of the last six years. You should really check Facebook for stuff like that.

It seems like there isn’t a day that goes by without us hearing about some new role that she’s being looked at for or being offered. Despite all of the things that we’ve heard she’s signed up for or has started filming though, we’ve yet to really see her first big screen followup to her breakout role. We’ve still got to wait to get our eyeballs on things like White Bird in a Blizzard, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Divergent, and now The Fault in Our Stars. Oh yeah… that’s the news here. Inside Movies is reporting that Woodley has just been offered the lead role in this adaptation of a YA novel about two young people falling in love after meeting in a cancer support group. Add it to your calendar. This girl is about to have a big couple of years.

The latest additions to the film [via THR] are House of Lies actress Dawn Olivieri and The Newsroom actor Thomas Matthews. Chances are you already know who both of them are, because the past six months of my Twitter feed have been packed full of House of Lies and Newsroom talk. If you haven’t seen either of those shows yet, you’re way behind on your pop culture consumption. Olivieri and Matthews, of course, join a ridiculous cast that still includes Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, Christian Bale and Louis C.K. Basically it’s going to be the best movie ever, right? Now could we get a freaking title so we know what to call it?

They’re reporting that Reno 911 and Bridesmaids actress Wendi McLendon-Covey and Tim & Eric and The Comedy star Tim Heidecker have both been added to the film. Cedar Rapids and Wreck-It Ralph scribe Phil Johnston wrote the picture, which stars McHale as a man who nearly ruins Christmas by forgetting to bring his kids’ presents along on the trip to grandpa’s house. Williams is reportedly playing the grandfather, McLendon-Covey is playing the aunt who still breast feeds her 4-year-old, and Heidecker is playing McLendon-Covey’s trucker husband. Sounds like all of that has quite a lot of potential to be hilarious… if they just find some way to deal with that Robin Williams being extremely annoying problem.

Okay, so maybe Garfield doesn’t count, but Jones is still tough: he was the Juggernaut, bitch. It should come as no surprise, then, that Deadline is reporting he’s signed on to star as a hitman in the upcoming thriller, Killer’s List. This project, from producer/director Phil Avalon (Liquid Bridge), will see Jones playing a retired killer of men who gets his son’s fingers and a note that says he has to kill five specific people if he ever wants to see his boy again in the mail, and who then starts off on a campaign that sees him killing what’s likely to be way more than five people. The film starts shooting in Brisbane in July, which probably explains why it’s not starring Liam Neeson. He’s just too busy playing retired hitmen in other movies to make that long of a flight.
