What is Movie News After Dark? It’s a nightly column that is always topical, often timely and ever ready to rock your world with all the great articles you’d probably find yourself, if you had the time. Lucky for you, we’ve got plenty of time.

We begin this evening with one of fourteen new images from Moonrise Kingdom, the upcoming film from Wes Anderson. You’ll know him as the guy who made films such as Rushmore, The Life Aquatic, The Royal Tenenbaums and The Fantastic Mr. Fox. This one comes with just as much star-power, including names like Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, Jason Schwartzman and Bob Balaban. The young man above’s name is Jared Gilman. He’s new.

Unexpectedly, The Catholic League was not impressed with the nun-kini worn in The Three Stooges by actress/model/hotperson Kate Upton. In related news, sarcasm is difficult to express in print.

Fast Company has a great piece about How Slated Remakes Indie Film Finance, profiling one of the many companies out there doing good things in support of indie filmmakers.

Richard Brody’s New Yorker essay Misreading Lena Dunham, hasn’t given me a greater understanding of why I just can’t get into Ms. Dunham’s work, despite being a white person burdened with an awkward sex life. But it is an interesting read.

Film District has released the first theatrical poster for Safety Not Guaranteed, a film we like quite a bit. Who wouldn’t respond to this ad?

With his next film, Woody Allen will return to the U.S., where his neurosis has been sorely missed.

The Shiznit presents an in-depth profile of one of Hollywood’s go-to trailer sounds, Here comes the BWWWooommm. Sadly, they don’t get to the root cause of the issue: It’s really just an extension of the Inception BRAAAAHHHHM.

Chris Hemsworth on Thor 2: “I think the science fiction element to THOR… the danger is it falls a little bit into the world of it’s “tough to throw a light to.” I think of big waterfalls and mountains and a Viking influence, where the Norse mythology kind of grew from. Having that in Asgard is going to make it all the more special and that’s what Alan [Taylor] wants to bring to it. I think that would be the new aspect to this one.”

“1. If there’s only one person with a British accent, that person is the villain.” This is but one of 10 Universal Truths We’ve Learned at the Movies, courtesy of Eric D. Snider and Film.com.

The fine gents at WhatCulture didn’t find one, two, three, or ten, but 50 Reasons Why Dawn of the Dead Might Just Be the Greatest Film of All-Time. Why they had to saddle their argument with the kill-switch of “might” is beyond me. Commit already.

In lists elsewhere, Pajiba would like to offer 12 Things We Learned About Community from “Origins of Vampire Mythology.”

Oh hello there, gorgeous minimalist poster for Danny Boyle’s Sunshine by artist Travis English:

We close tonight with a mash-up of two AMC properties, Walking Dead Mad Men. The opening credits animation is awesome:
